Vincent D'Onofrio has landed the role of the main villain in Jurassic World. In addition to D'Onofrio, it has also been revealed that Irrfan Khan, who you probably know from The Amazing Spider-Man and Life of Pi, will also appear, though there are no specifics on who exactly he'll actually play (apart from being the owner of the Patel corporation which has apparently bought InGen).
I have a feeling the Patel Corporation is just a front for Biosyn.
Though many have been referring to the new film as a reboot, Trevorrow has preferred to call it quote, "a new sci-fi terror adventure set 22 years after the horrific events of Jurassic Park." Do NOT expect to see any of the original film's characters to show up. Sam Neill, who played Dr. Alan Grant in the first and third film has previously stated that he is unlikely to return and in a recent interview with The Huffington Post, Jeff Goldblum said he hasn't been called to appear in Jurassic World and isn't too surprised considering he never got a call for JP 3 either.
What the hell?! Is it too much to ask for even a SINGLE cameo of an original cast member?
You know like; D'Onofrio’s character is watching news reports on the helicopter ride to the Isla Nublar and we get a short one minute scene where Dr. Grant is interviewed by the press in his office, asking him what he thinks of the new park. Surrounded by books and fossils he basically tells them that it’s an inevitable death trap. At which point D'Onofrio turns off the monitor... See, it's not that hard!
I mean, C’mon! At least use one original character for continuity. All the other movies had overlapping characters. Fans have waited 14 years to see a sequel (In which time we’ve had to put up with 6 fast & furious movies, 7 harry potter movies, And I’ve lost count of how many resident evil or SAW movies we’re up to now...). So at least be honest with us. Don’t tell me it’s not a re-boot (whilst using NONE of the original characters, or InGen), because it’s definitely starting to look that way...

Honours Thesis Published!
My first scientific paper was published in the online journal PLOS ONE a few days ago. Link: http://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=info%3Adoi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0150871
It is the culmination of 2 years work. I am extremely proud of the finished product, and honoured to have taken part in this project. It started as an honours project in mid 2013. The aim of which was to assess the digging capabilities of the extinct giant Pacific Galliform bird Sylviornis neocaledoniae in order to address the veracity of its inclusion within the Megapodiidae family (mound-builder birds) and the claims that it was thus responsible for the enormous

If you're dumb enough to steal someone else's work, modify it and upload it as your own (without asking for permission or giving credit) - one would hope you at least have enough brain power to NOT leave the bloody copyright stamp of the original artist visible!!!

It's also obvious he has stolen the skull an neck of Scott Hartman's Suchomimus reconstruction, and the arm from Hartman's Therizinosaur reconstruction as well.
As many of you know, I am more often than not, quite happy to give permission to those who wish to use my art in their own projects.

Jurassic World
So I saw Jurassic World yesterday...
I organized a group of 24 people (Most were from the Flinders University Palaeontology Society, and the rest were personal friends). Among the attendees was our very own Gogosardina (Brian Choo). Another member of the DA palaeoart community (Pristichampsus) wanted to be there but couldn't make it.
Dr. John Long was lucky enough to see it a day before the rest of the lab did. He attended the red carpet event and wrote a review piece for the conversation the next day. He was kind enough to give me his signed ticket (which doubles as a prop for a visitor pass at Jurassic World) after I told him how jealous
